Tips to Avoid a DUI This Summer Provided By a Fresno DUI Attorney
Jun 29, 2016

Now that summertime is in full swing, more and more of us are heading out to family reunions, weddings, graduation parties, and days at the beach. We all like to have a good time with friends and family, but there are times when we take that good time a bit too far and wind up with an arrest for DUI. Here's some tips on how to avoid a DUI arrest this summer. Go out, have fun, but be smart.
Have a Designated Driver
This is probably one of the most common-sense-type tips we can provide, but unfortunately, many people don't heed this advice. Before you head off to your celebrations, make sure you have someone who will not be drinking and can drive you home. If you and your friend are heading to multiple celebrations throughout the summer, you suggest your friend be the designated driver this weekend, and you'll take over those duties next weekend. The key is staying safe and planning ahead.
Call a Taxi
Ok, so you're supposed to be the designated driver, but one beer led to another, and now you're legally drunk. Call a cab. Call Uber. Call a friend. Just don't get behind the wheel and drive. The extra money you'll spend on a cab or Uber fares is worth it in the long run.
Don't Rely on Misconceptions
Many people falsely believe that one drink each hour will not register them to be legally intoxicated. Each human body processes alcohol differently depending on weight, size, and the content of your stomach. The best way to ensure you're not driving a car under the influence is to not drink. At all.
